What You Need to Know

Designed for PMU Work

This service is intended exclusively for permanent makeup and cosmetic tattoo pigments. Saline-based removal works by drawing pigment up through the skin via osmosis, allowing it to shed naturally as the skin heals. Because it does not rely on heat or laser energy, it is suitable for a wider range of pigment colours than laser-based methods.

Cosmetic tattoo pigments in warm tones including brown, taupe, and soft black generally respond well to this method. Pigments that are very dark, heavily saturated, or contain metallic compounds including black, grey, silver, green, or blue tones require individual assessment, as outcomes in these cases are less predictable and cannot be guaranteed. We will always provide an honest evaluation at consultation before any treatment proceeds.

Results are gradual and cumulative. Individual outcomes depend on pigment depth, skin type, aftercare compliance, and how the body responds to treatment. We do not make outcome guarantees and will always tell you honestly what we believe is achievable for your specific situation.

Please note: This service is for cosmetic tattoo pigments only. Results vary by individual and cannot be guaranteed. A consultation is required before any treatment is performed and we reserve the right to decline treatment where suitability is uncertain.

How It Works

1

Consultation

We assess the pigment type, colour, depth, and skin condition to determine suitability and discuss realistic expectations before any treatment is scheduled.

2

Treatment

A saline-based solution is applied to the treated area using a precise method designed to reach the pigment layer and initiate the osmosis process.

3

Healing

The skin forms a protective scab over 7 to 14 days. As it heals and sheds naturally, some pigment may be expelled in this process. The degree of change varies by individual skin response and pigment characteristics.

4

Review

Once fully healed, we assess progress together and determine the appropriate next step, whether that is a further session, a correction, or no additional treatment.

Tailored to Your Situation

Starting Point

Removal Consultation

A dedicated appointment to assess your existing permanent makeup, evaluate pigment colour and depth, and discuss your goals honestly. All removal treatments begin here and no treatment proceeds without this step.

Recent Work

Early Pigment Removal

Performed within the first few days of the original procedure while the pigment remains close to the surface. This window offers the most responsive conditions for initial removal work.

Established Work

PMU Lightening

For permanent makeup that has been in the skin for some time. A course of sessions works gradually to reduce pigment visibility, whether the goal is significant lightening or preparing the skin for correction work.

Correction

PMU Correction Plan

For clients who wish to correct rather than fully remove their existing work. Following sufficient lightening, new cosmetic tattoo work may be considered. We develop the plan together based on what the skin can support.

Frequently Asked Questions

This service is designed for permanent makeup and cosmetic tattoo pigments only. Warm-toned pigments including brown, taupe, and soft black generally respond well. Pigments that are very dark, metallic, or contain blue, green, grey, or silver tones may be less predictable and require individual assessment. We will advise honestly on your specific situation at consultation before any treatment is booked.

A topical numbing cream is applied before treatment to reduce discomfort. Sensitivity varies from person to person and by the area being treated. Most clients find the process manageable and we work at a pace that suits your comfort throughout.

The number of sessions required depends on the pigment colour, depth, saturation, and your skin type. Most clients see meaningful change over 2 to 6 sessions, though this is not a guarantee and some pigments may be more resistant than others. A realistic estimate is given at your consultation based on what we observe.

A minimum of 6 to 8 weeks is required between sessions to allow the skin to fully heal. Proceeding too early does not improve results and increases the risk of skin damage. All follow-up appointments are scheduled once healing is confirmed at review.

When performed correctly and followed by proper aftercare, the risk of scarring is low. The most important factor in recovery is leaving the healing scab completely undisturbed. Picking or interfering with the scab significantly increases the risk of scarring and must be avoided.

In many cases, yes. Once the skin has healed sufficiently and the desired level of lightening has been achieved, new cosmetic tattoo work can be considered. We assess the skin at each follow-up and will advise when conditions are appropriate for fresh work.
